The long awaited repairs to our weather damaged road finally got underway today with fresh gravel spread over the seriously eroded sections and spread to keep the road trafficable for members to gain entry to the club facilities.
The road drains will all be graded and properly formed, the road surface worked up, graded, watered and rolled and the cattle grid on the entry road and properly filled with road base next week providing a much safer access road in all weather conditions.
Luke Taylor's team have done a great job with the work to date and we are looking forward to seeing the final product once the work is completed.
It would also seem that after a number of months of very heavy baiting, we may be getting on top of the mouse problem with no live mice seen today, no strong odour on entry to the Club House and very little fresh shrapnel around the club house indicating the existence of mice. We can only hope that we are able to keep on top of the mouse population.
Eleven members and two potential members attended ranges today with three Air matches and four Standard Pistol Matches contested with several several members undertaking supervisory roles.

​Match of the day next Saturday will be Standard Pistol commencing at 1pm.

Centre Fire and Sport Pistol were the matches of the day yesterday with six members contesting the matches.

​Club Pistols are expected to be again available most weekends from next Saturday.

A nice turnout in cold and blustery conditions on Saturday with 7 members and a visitor from Moree in attendance.
Trevor was the designated Range Officer for the day.
Simon from  Moree and Jim contested a Centre Fire Match while Margaret, Kim and Kaylene contested a Laadies 25 Metre Match and Ralph contested a Men's Sport Pistol Match.
Bruce undertook another Practice Air Pistol Match.
Centre Fire and Ladies 25 m Pistol are the scheduled matches for next Saturday commencing at 1pm.

CLUB CALENDAR
While getting ready to add scores to this site, I noticed that there was an error in the Club Calendar appearing on this site which showed the Long weekend as being on the 1st weekend of June when it actually is the second weekend of June in NSW.
I have amended the Club Calendar and uploaded the amended document on to this website tonight.

Attendances for the last two weekends have been down for a number of reasons with only two members contesting a match this weekend while several others were involved in planning for some much needed maintenance to portion of the Club House
Scheduled Matches next weekend are Rapid Fire and Black Powder, however, I suspect that an alternate match to Black Powder may be contested as two of the normal contestants are not expected to be in attendance.

BUILDING UPDATE

Development Application and Plans for the new building to replace the old building on Ranges 1 and 2 are now almost complete and will shortly be lodged for consent of the various parties including the Glen Innes Severn Council.
It is now anticipated that the reconstruction will take place in October/November to ensure that the September Open is not impacted by construction work.
