Saturday and Sunday 18-19/2/12 The February Open Shoot.

Glen Innes Pistol Club just concluded its February Open Shoot for 2012.
This Open was particularly special due to the fact it commemorated 25 years on the Bradleys Lane site.
The Open was a resounding success and a great time was had by all.
All entrants and helpers were presented with commerorative 25 year anniversary coasters which are a one off collectable.
As usual prizes were presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each grade for each match. This years prizes were highball tumblers engraved with "Glen Innes Pistol Club ISSF Open Shoot 2012".
This Open also hosted the second saturday night roast dinner at the club house since the tradition was revived. It was also a great success and a merry time was had by all who attended.
As usual the canteen served exquisite food at very reasonable prices all weekend and as usual it was appreciated by all at the shoot.
There was also a special presentation made to Wayne Unicomb for his tireless efforts which was a lifetime membership to the Glen Innes Pistol Club.
A huge thank you goes out to all the helpers and of course the visitors because without you all we wouldn't have an Open Shoot at all.
The results can be viewed on the weekly results 2012 page.
Photos from the Open can be viewed on the shooting gallery page.
Next week is Rapid.

Saturday saw the working bee in preparation for the Open Shoot to be held at Glen Innes Pistol Club next weekend the 18th-19th February. I assume the club is ship shape and ready for the Open because I wasn't actually at the working bee a fact which I am sure I will pay for later.

This particular Open Shoot marks our 25th Anniversary at our current site in Bradleys Lane.
As a token of our appreciation for their support and to commemorate the event entrants this year will receive a Limited Edition Engraved Metal Coaster as a gift in edition to any prizes they may win in competition.
This years prizes are High Ball Tumbler Glasses engraved with “Glen Innes Pistol Club Open Shoot”.

For those who don’t know an Open Shoot is a competition where Pistol Shooters from all over the country converge on one club, in this case Glen Innes Pistol Club, to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes in several
matches. The matches offered at our Open Shoots include Standard, Rapid, Centre Fire, Sports, 50m Pistol, Air Pistol and our novelty match 25 Yard Service.

On Saturday night we host a roast dinner and dessert at the clubhouse which is a great opportunity for the 60 competitors plus their families and friends to socialise and meet new people.
In recent years we as a club have been constantly striving to improve the Glen Innes Pistol Club Open Shoot experience and it has earned Glen Innes Pistol Club a reputation for a high level of professionalism whilst still remaining a laid back and relaxed country club. We plan to continue improving our club experience into the future also.
We hope to see some local visitors this weekend as Open Shoots are a great way to get a feel for what the Glen Innes Pistol Club experience is like. We run a kitchen and full ammenities so all you need bring is yourself. We are also fully wheelchair accessible.
We hope to see you there as this Open is shaping up to be one of our best yet.

Saturday 4/2/12 The Unofficial Working Bee.

Saturday 4/2/12 saw nine members show up at the club and not a single shot fired.
Instead they decided to work really hard whipping the club into shape for our upcoming Open Shoot to be held on the 18th-19th February.
Next saturday is the scheduled working bee and there is still a lot to be done so we urge all members to attend the working bee and lend a hand.
As usual lunch is free for all members who attend and lend a hand.
We look forward to seeing you there.
