Saturday 28/1/12 Lifetime Member John Emmett Passes.

Members of Glen Innes Pistol Club were saddened to learn of the recent death of John Emmett, a past President of the Club.
John joined the club on 2nd June, 1981 and worked tirelessly to successfully guide relocation of the club to the present site on Bradleys Lane during 1986/87.
John remained an active member until he retired to Laurieton in the early 1990's. He was one of two original
Life Members of the club having been afforded this honour on 3rd April, 1987.
Our sympathies are extended to John's wife Marcia and their family.

On a more positive note the club scored a new member on saturday which is always good. I'm sure we all look forward to meeting and competing with them.
There are no results to display for Saturday 28/1/12 due to poor weather conditions.

Next saturday is Standard Pistol and the monthly meeting. The monthly meeting is held at 12:30 and all members are expected to attend.

Saturday 21/1/12 saw a good turnout including two visitors from Tamworth, T.J Dennis and Sabine Bosse.

When I arrived the Bowens were finishing up a Service Pistol match and lamenting a few hiccups that had occured throughout the match (zeros).

After lunch everybody shot either Centre Fire or Sports Pistol.
T.J Dennis, one of the visitors from Tamworth shot quite well taking first place in Centre Fire.
Sabine Bosse, the other visitor from Tamworth and a relative new comer to the sport also shot well and took out second place in Ladies Sports.
Charles Capel shot a solitary standard match.

At this point I would like to give an extra special big thanks to Ron Reed for his tireless efforts for the club. Week in and week out he is there mowing and doing general maintenance on the grounds as well as being the first to arrive to unlock the gates and the last to leave. Who knows where we would be without Ron.

Jason and Kerri Tom also put in another sterling effort in the club house renovating and painting and the place looks great as a result. Due to theirs and others efforts the upcoming Open Shoot looks to be one of the best yet.
Sabine Bosse expressed an interest in attending and we hope to see her there in February. T.J said he couldn't make February but has cleared his calender for our September Open.

All results can be viewed on the weekly results 2012 page.
Next week is Rapid Fire.

Saturday 14/01/12 Service, Air and renovations.

Firstly Mary and I shot a 25 yard service match each.
Then the Mitchells arrived and they set about shooting Air Pistol.
When Trevor Rees arrived he and I shot a service match.
In the mean time the Toms arrived and started making alterations to the clubhouse which were discussed and agreed upon at the last monthly meeting. These alterations mean the score shed will move inside the clubhouse and will be lockable and accessable by authorised personnel only during the Open. The existing score shed will become a storage shed for targets and other miscellaneous club equipment. It is a great improvement to the existing score shed set up and makes our Open Shoot even more professional both in appearance and functionality.
The results can be viewed on the Weekly Match Results 2012 page.
Next week is Centre Fire.

Saturday 7/01/12 The meeting.

Saturday 7/1/12 saw two Service matches shot by myself and the Monthly Meeting.
My Service scores were nothing to write home about but the meeting was a success with much discussion and planning in regards to the upcoming Open Shoot on the third weekend of February. It looks to be a beauty.
The meeting ran long as a result so the Standard match never eventuated.
The club calender page and weekly results page for 2012 will be added to the site very shortly.
