Only three Air Pistol Matches contested this morning before the working bee.
Scores appear on the Results page.
The working bee was called to repair the termite damaged wall between the Club kitchen and hall and "strip out" the Office in readiness for treatment and repair of the flooring in that area.
Thanks to the efforts of Michelle, Kaylene, Charles, Dick and Bob, the majority of the damaged framing was removed (There is still approx. 2.5 m of bottom plate to be removed) and the majority of new cypress pine framing installed. Another 2 hours or so next Saturday will see the framing completed in readiness for the pest controller to spray all the exposed timber framing and the floor area of the Office before the gyprock is re-installed on the walls, the new area painted and the trim all replaced.

A much better turnout today.
Five Air Pistol Matches and four Standard Pistol Matches contested during the course of the day with Bob acting as Range Officer.

Michelle shot close to her best in both matches while Dick and Charles shot Personal Bests in Standard Pistol.
Scores are now on the results page of this site.

We also had two gentlemen (non pistol shooters) travel up from the Coffs Harbour region to undertake the Pistol Safe Handling Course as part of the Legislative requirements to obtain a Firearms Dealers Licence so that they can buy in to a Firearms dealership in Coffs Harbour. Both passed the course with ease and a donation of $200 was made for helping them out.

A working bee has been called for next Saturday to replace timber in the wall between the club house hall and the kitchen which has been destroyed by termites. The plaster has all been stripped off in readiness for the working bee.

A few able bodies are needed so that this vital work can be completed in one day and lunch will be provided for those attending and assisting with the work.

Not surprisingly, only three members attended the club yesterday with the maximum temperature hovering in the 6 to 8 degrees range but with the strong winds the "feels like" temperature sat below 3 degrees all afternoon.

With the cold conditions and the standing water on the 25 metre range, the Air Pistol range was popular with Margaret shooting a full air pistol match, Wayne firing off a partial match as practice and Jim acting as Range Officer

Matches of the day next weekend will be Standard Pistol commencing at 1 pm with Air Pistyol the alternate match.

On arrival yesterday, it was pleasing to see that the new road surface stood up very well to the heavy rain (66mm in about 2 hours) on Thursday with no damage noticed. A week of clear skies and no rain will work wonders in settling and hardening the road surface for years of maintenance free service and safe access to our facilities.

A better turn up yesterday-again in very col and wet underfoot conditions.
A total of five Air Pistol Matches, 2 Black Powder Matches and three Sport Pistol Matches were contested with varying degrees of success.
Margaret was very happy with her Air Pistol Score using her new Steyr Air Pistol while Kim has taken possession of Margaret's Anschultz Air Pistol, put a new Rink Grip on it and recorded a Personal Best first match up. Michelle continued her consistent improvement with another Personal Best in Air Pistol.
Match of the day next Saturday is Centre Fire/Sports Pistol commencing at 1 pm

Water, Water everywhere.

The ground water profile at the club must be over 100% with water seeping out of banks and surface water laying inches deep in some areas of Range 2.

The access road was far better than expected with the new road base not yet graded and rolled but still able to be travelled with care in a two wheel drive vehicle and will settle down with a few days without rain.

If only we ever could get a full week without rain so that the project can be completed.

In the end, five members attended the facility with 2 Air Pistol Matches contested before lunch and five Standard Pistol matches contested after the break. Although exceptionally wet under foot during the Standard Match, it was very much enjoyed by those in attendance.

Scores are now on the Match results page of this site.

Next week Matches of the day are Rapid Fire Pistol and 25 m Black Powder commencing at 1 pm.

COVID UPDATE

1/7/2021

Due to recent advices from a number of Government sources, we have decided to cease accepting new membership applications until further notice from all "new to shooting" applicants - effective immediately.

We are unable to comply with the supervision requirements of new shooters under the Firearms Regulations and still comply with the NSW Department of Health COVID 19 social distancing regulations.

Our decision is based on the need to preserve the health and wellbeing of all members and comply with NSW COVID 19 Guidelines as they presently exist. This decision will be reviewed when there has been a significant relaxation of the Health guidelines.

We will however continue to accept applications for membership where the applicant is transferring from another pistol club affiliated as a minimum to NSW Amateur Pistol Association or corresponding interstate body PROVIDED that those applicants can produce the appropriate transfer paperwork from their existing club.

All members and visitors must follow all COVID 19 NSW Health protocols with personal hygiene, hand sanitizing, social distancing, log in and out with the QR Code etc. as they exist on the day they attend the Glen Innes Pistol Club facility.

In terms of recent guidelines laid down by NSW Health for al Regional NSW areas, all persons attending the Range must wear a properly fitted mask covering both their mouth and their nose while on any range or in the Club house with the exception that the mask can be removed while eating lunch or while partaking  morning/afternoon tea until further notice.

If you feel unwell or have been to a COVID designated hot spot within 14 days before attendance, please do not come to the Range.

Glen Innes Pistol Club Executive reserves the right to direct any person displaying COVID 19 like symptoms to leave the facility immediately.
