Saturday 19/5/12 turned on another beautiful day for shooting at Glen Innes Pistol Club. There was a good turnout of members and guests and several matches were contested. The matches shot were 25 Yard

For a full run down on any of our matches visit the match descriptions page. Saturday 12/5/12 was a beautiful day for a match at Glen Innes Pistol Club.
Service Pistol, 25 Yard Service, 25m Black Powder and Air Pistol were the matches contested on the day. The club again had the pleasure of Evan Browns company from Reddestone Pistol Club who visited and tried his hand at Service Pistol Unrestricted. We also had a local visitor who came to see what the club was like and expressed a keen interest in the Service matches but particularly in Black Powder. We look forward to their company again in the near future. The 25m Black Powder match contested was the first Black Powder match held at Glen Innes Pistol Club in quite some time. Wayne Unicomb and Rick Bowen seemed very pleased to be blowing the dust off their gear while Garry “Dusty” Miller was using his new Black Powder Revolver for the first time in a match and was over the moon. Jan Bowen however, who had to wait for Rick to finish the Black powder match, didn't seem quite as elated but you can't please everybody all the time so she took a hit for the team and waited in the car. It was good to see Black Powder making a come back at the club and I'm sure there will be plenty more of it in the future. Results are on the weekly results 2012 page. Next week is Centre Fire. As always visitors are welcome. Saturday 5/5/12 was a beautiful day to get out to Glen Innes Pistol Club for an enjoyable afternoon of shooting.
We again had the pleasure of Evan Brown's company from Reddestone Pistol Club who joined us in a 25 yard service match. Service Pistol, Service Pistol Unrestricted, 25 Yard Service Pistol, Mens Air Pistol and Ladies Air Pistol were the matches contested on the day. After the matches were complete our Club Captain Rick Bowen gave the members in attendance instruction on how to load and use a Percussion Cap Black Powder Revolver safely and correctly in a match environment. Three members, Garry Miller, Gary Meehan and I had not fired one of these pistols previously and it was certainly a highlight of the day for us. Thank you to Ron Reed for making that possible and to Rick for the lesson. While we were shooting the black powder revolver Jan Bowen came up with a million dollar idea. She pointed out how they spend millions every year trying to make perfumes that attract men when all women have to do is fire a black powder pistol and men come running from every direction. Next week is Service Pistol. As always visitors are welcome. Results are on the weekly results 2012 page. |
