Glen Innes Pistol Club held its 2013 Service Pistol Club Championships today. Competition was tight with Rick Bowen and Andrew Funnell duelling it out (figuratively of course) for the title of Service Club Champion. Fingers Funnells new dodgy left trigger finger and woeful physical condition around the midsection let him down at 50m left barricade with 6 zeros. As usual Ricks 50m was excellent. Fingers tried to make a comeback at the 25m and closer but in the end experience thoroughly defeated beauty leaving Rick Service Club Champion of the Glen Innes Pistol Club Universe with Fingers coming second in a two man race. Service Unrestricted was also hotly contested. Club Captain Jan Bowen was doing well until she had to pull out due to an elusive front sight (it was found in the end). Rick won unrestricted with his revolver. Fingers had a better 50m left barricade but it still wasn't enough leaving him in second. Ralph Penn came third using his revolver. Evan Brown came fourth using his beaut new bit of gear and given he only just got it showed he is going to be a real contender and Dusty Miller came fifth with his revolver. Can't wait to see his new gear in action also and as always............. Evan enjoyed the smell of Gun Powder.............as do we all! Pics have been posted to the Shooting Gallery - Service Pistol Club Championships 2013 page.
Results of Service and Service Unrestricted are on the Match Results 2013 page. Next week is Centre Fire and as always visitors are most welcome. The latest results are on the match results 2013 page.
