A small group of "senior" members (age related) of the club attended yesterday and conducted a Hazard Reduction Burn off after lunch in the bottom Carpark, around the Air Range and up the side of the path to the Air Range.

The amount of leaf litter and sticks that had accumulated over the last couple of years was astounding and was cause for concern with the continued dry weather and the predicted hot summer.

The site is now much safer for the upcoming Open shoot in 3 weeks as a result of yesterday's efforts.

It was not all work though with three members contesting a WA1500 48 shot match before Lunch and one of those members also contesting an Air Pistol Match earlier in the morning.

Match of the day next week is Standard Pistol commencing at 1 pm.

A quite cold day in Glen Innes yesterday and as a result, a much smaller attendance.
Two members contested an Air Pistol Match and 3 members contested a Sport Pistol Match with Kim shooting a Personal best score.
It was also pleasing to have a former member visit and re-join the Club after an absence of several years and contest part of the Centre Fire Match as a Practice Match.
At the Committee Meeting last week, it was decided that the Match of the day on 26th August (next Saturday) would be cancelled to enable a fire hazard reduction to take place.
The area in front of the Air Range, part way up the path to the Air Range and part of the lower car park are areas of particular concern. The intention is to rake the leaves etc into a "control" area and, with the appropriate fire permit, burn the material raked up in readiness for the Open event next month when we anticipate the card park to be full with visitor cars and vans.
This exercise is planned to start at 1pm with the intention that all material will be completely incinerated and the fires out by 3-4 pm.

Great turnout last Saturday for the Annual General Meeting and a total of 16 Matches contested before the meeting between Standard Pistol, Air Pistol and the 48 shot WA1500 matches
There was very little change between the outgoing and incoming Committee with a change in the Assistant Secretary, Vice Captain and one change in the Committee Persons.
​We did loose a few members this year for various reasons but new members have made up the loss. Hopefully, the 2 new younger members will encourage some of their friends to also come and have a look and potentially join the Club.

Much better turnout today over recent weeks with a total of 11 matches contested during the course of the day, with one new member committing to join next week when he has his paperwork sorted and one new member transferring in from another Club.

The Club's Annual General Meeting is to be held next Saturday at approx. 2 pm after conclusion of the match of the day and the Committee is hoping for a strong turn out of members for this important meeting.

​To avoid the meeting being delayed, the match of the day (Standard Pistol) will commence at 12 noon sharp.
