Plenty of activity yesterday with:-
>  our new Disag. (financed by a NSW Government Regional Development Scheme grant and supplied by Potter     Firearms) received in readiness for our Open in two weeks.
>  Another potential young member attending to learn what is needed to join the Club (I feel sure we will see      her again very soon to progress her membership)
>   Bob bringing a young chap up wishing to try Pistol shooting (with all paperwork in order)
>  Two people attending in the afternoon to undertake a Longarms Safety Training Course in preparation for       applying for a Category A/B Vermin Control Licence ($100 earned for the Club)
>  Damaged wheel/Tyre reinstalled on the ride-on mower and the carparks all mowed to reduce some of the       workload during the working bee next Saturday
>  a total of seven matches contested for the day

Next weekend it will be hopefully many hands making light work preparing everything around the facility in readiness for our Open Competition on 17,18 and 19 February, 2023

A very pleasing turnout yesterday with 19 matches contested between 9 members.
Bob took out the iron man trophy contesting 3 matches before Lunch and Sport Pistol in the afternoon.
It is great to see better attendances of late enjoying the much improved range facilities now available to all members.
Match of the day next weekend will be Standard Pistol with Air Pistol as the alternate match

A total of 16 matches was contested last Saturday with six Standard Pistol, 4 Air Pistol, 3 25 Yard Service and 3 WA1500 (48 Shot) matches fired with varying degrees of success.
The main thing was that everyone enjoyed themselves and great to see a little larger attendance than we have seen in recent times.
Centre Fire/Sport Pistol is the main match of the day next Saturday commencing at 1 pm but I suspect there will be a couple of members contesting the 48 shot WA1500 match and a 25 Yard Service Match before lunch.

We are now 2 weeks into the new year and is hard to imagine the difference 12 months makes.
Last year, everything was so continuously wet with rain every few days and this year, everything is so dry and the ground so hard because there has been so little rain.
We have now had two weeks of competition with relatively small attendances and the scores have now been added to the results page on this site. Nothing to write home about but very much enjoyed by those in attendance- even if the weather this time of the year is very warm.
Match of the day next weekend will be Standard Pistol commencing at 1 pm

The final Club Competition for 2022 was contested yesterday with Centre Fire/Sports Pistol being the match of the day and six members in attendance.

The ranges are now closed to competition but some members will be in attendance from time to time over the next two weeks undertaking maintenance of facilities.  Ranges will reopen to Competition on  7th January with Standard Pistol being the scheduled match of the day.

February Open
Entry forms were emailed out earlier this month and already entries in the event have been received. Members are looking forward to a much more relaxed lead up to this Open as we were flat out trying to put the final touches on the new 25 metre range on the weekend before the September Open while trying to mow and clean up around the entire facility.

On behalf of the Committee and Members of the Club, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year and look forward to seeing you on the ranges during 2023

Only four members attended the range yesterday which is not unexpected with Christmas fast approaching.

Robert and Doreen made their trip across worth while by both contesting two air pistol matches before lunch and then a 25 m Pistol/Centre Fire Match after Lunch.

Rick and Wayne both contested a 48 Shot WA 1500 match and a 25 yard Service Match before lunch but unfortunately had to abandon plans to contest the 25 metre Black Powder match after lunch.

Scores have no been placed on the Results page of this site.

Match of the day next weekend is Centre Fire/25 metre Pistol match and the last competition for 2022 before the Ranges close for two weeks for the Christmas/New Year break.

A little better attendance last weekend which ended up seeing four different matches contested in the day.

Two members contested an Air Pistol Match, while 3 members contested a WA1500 Standard Revolver Match followed by a 25 Yard Service Match with varying degrees of success and five members contested a Standard Pistol Match after Lunch.

The scores were certainly nothing to "write home about" but the day was enjoyed by all in attendance.

Match of the day next Saturday is Rapid Fire and Black Powder. In recent months, we have had members join in and contest a Sport Pistol or Centre Fire Match while the Black Powder shooters are contesting their match to encourage additional participation on the Black Powder days and this has worked out quite well to date.

25 METRE RANGE OPENING DAY

21/11/2022

A very successful Club day was held last Saturday to mark the Official Opening of the new 25 Metre Range Building by Member for Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall MP, and Mayor of Glen Innes Seven Council, Rob Banham.
The day started with 7 members contesting a Standard Pistol Match. We all then enjoyed a relaxing lunch and then 11 members contested a Centre Fire/Sport Pistol match after lunch.
Both Adam and Rob then completed the Temporary Exemption Firearms form and sampled two different Centre Fire Pistols before cutting the ribbon to Officially Open the Range.
Both Adam and Ron then had a good look at the Air Range and sampled an Air Pistol with both being suitably impressed with both the Air Range and the Air Pistol.
All in all it was a very pleasant and successful day for the Club and its members

An interesting day on Saturday in perfect weather conditions.
Bob contested an Air Pistol Match early before we moved to the 25 metre range and contested a Standard Pistol Match before Lunch and a 25 Metre Black Powder Match after lunch with Charles joining in and firing a Centre Match as the Black Powder Match progressed.
The scores were nothing to write home about but the matches very much enjoyed.
Trevor was very productive making a start on preparing targets for the February Open - a thankless task in the background.
We have a full Club day planned for next Saturday (19/11/2022) before the Official Opening of the new 25 metre Range Building by Adam Marshall at 3 pm.
Hopefully, we will see a good turnout of members with as many as possible wearing their club shirts.

November 2022

November is an exiting month for Glen Innes Pistol Club with the new 25 metre Range building to be officially opened by the Hon. Adam Marshall, Member for Northern Tablelands on Saturday 19th November.
The day will be marked with a full day of Club competition commencing at 10 am with a Standard Pistol Match (with Air Pistol as an alternate Match. Lunch will be provided at 12 noon and a Centre Fire/Sport Pistol Match will be contested commencing at 1 pm sharp with the Official Opening at 3 pm followed by afternoon tea.

The last 12 months has been testing for Club members with the old 25 metre building being demolished in  October 2021 and the construction of the new building plagued with numerous delays and frustrations, particularly for those members who devoted so much time getting the new building completed and operational.

During this time, there was no turning targets available and attendances dropped off as a result with only a hand full of members contesting live fire matches on static targets on the 50 metre range.

Since the building was completed, there have been several weekends with good attendances and participation and it is hoped that this will continue with attendance numbers rising.

Next Saturday (12/11/2022) the matches of the day are 25 metre Black Powder and Rapid Fire
