Saturday 20/08/2011 25 Yard Service.

We were supposed to be shooting the club championship for Rapid but in the end we just shot 25 yard service. Poor Rapid has been skipped a couple of times now but sometimes 'thems the breaks'.
Tracey Gardner had her second go at 25 yard service and improved on her previous performance.
Mary Funnell shot the first series as a practice which was her first go at the match but had to stop there as that was all the rounds I had left for her after shooting two matches.
I switched to double action instead of single during my matches with some pleasing results. One of my awesome targets (all tens) can be viewed on the "shooting gallery" page. As can Mick Reeds all ten target or should I say all X's. (X being the inner ten ring).
While this was going on the SES were working hard sand bagging range 3 for the Police.
The results can be viewed on the "weekly results" page.

Saturday 13/8/11 Centre Fire Club Championships.

Saturday 13/8/11 was a beautiful day to contest the centre fire club championships.
First though Rick, Wayne and Mick shot 25 yard service. On the second round of 25 yard service Tracey Gardner used Mick Reeds gear to shoot her first ever 25 yard service match. Then Mick ran through again by himself. Results can be viewed on the weekly results page.
After lunch Mick, Rick, Wayne and Jan competed for the coveted title of centre fire club champion while I didn't bring my centre fire gear rendering me completely inadequate with my .22, so I shot Sports. Tracey Gardner shot Ladies Sports. Rick Bowen took centre fire club championship honours off barrel and Mick Reed took out the handicap honours. Tracey Gardner took club championship honours for Ladies Sports both off barrel and handicap. I technically took Sports club champion off barrel and handicap but as Wayne discovered my trigger was way too light to meet the match requirements it really doesn't count. The plus side is Wayne and Rick helped me fix my trigger after the match so now I'm ready to rock.
All results can be viewed on the weekly results page.

Saturday 6/8/11 saw the club championship for Standard Pistol.

It was a chilly overcast saturday, in other words a fine Glen Innes day.
First Rick, Wayne and I shot two 25 Yard Service matches back to back, the results can be viewed on the weekly results page.
When we finished those two matches, there, waiting for us in the club house were beaut snag sandwiches expertly cooked by Ron Reed. When the plumes of smoke cleared from the kitchen we located and ate said snag sandwiches then began the monthly meeting.
After the conclusion of the meeting we contested the Club Championship for Standard Pistol.
Mick Reed shot very well and took the honour of both off barrel and handicap Standard Pistol Champion. Tracey Gardener again showed marked improvement and again got a bit excited by some of her groups........though not as excited as a couple of weeks before whereas I showed marked deprovement if thats the word. Also Eric Davidson fired a little late in the 10 second series leaving a skid to rival Trevor Rees' skid from a couple of weeks ago. It's a shame skids don't count because he would have scored 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 with one shot. Thats better than a ten.........if it counted.
The results of the club championship standard match can be viewed on the weekly match results page.
Next week is the club championships for Centre fire and Rapid.
