There wasn't a huge turnout on Saturday the 23rd June but the members who did attend had a good time and got a Rapid match in.
The results are on the match results 2012 page. Next week is 50m pistol/Air pistol. As always visitors are most welcome. It was a really nice day for a shot at the club on saturday.
On arrival at the club I went straight up to Range 3, after signing in of course, to practice 50m prone having thought about the advice Rick Bowen had imparted last week. My scores improved on average and there were no misses so it is definitely a start. I look forward to more practice and improvements in the near future. After that we shot Centre Fire. The Gobberts and Charlie Capel went onto range 1 for practice and a match or two. After Centre Fire Gary Meehan, Gary Miller and myself had a bit of practice as well as tuning in our sights. The results are on the weekly results 2012 page. Next week is Rapid Fire. Saturday 9/6/12 turned on a beautiful sunny day for a shot and the members in attendance took full advantage.
During Service Pistol Rick Bowen imparted some of his wisdom and experience to me and my score was better than it has been previously because of it. He left me with a lot of food for thought and some things to practice and I am confident my scores will improve out of sight in the future. After lunch the "Old Timers" shot a 25m Black Powder match which was great because it shows that black powder is well and truly back at the club to stay. Also unless I am mistaken it was Gary Meehans first ever Black Powder match which is very exciting and not something you forget easily. Results are on the Match Results 2012 page. Next week is Centre Fire. Saturday 2/6/12 saw 25 Yard Service, Standard and Air Pistol shot at Glen Innes Pistol Club.
It was good to see Reddestone member Evan Brown turned up to shoot at the club again. It was also great to see our up and coming Junior member Alex Tom turned up to shoot an Air match.
