Our project to replace the old building on Ranges 1 and 2 is progressing after very lengthy delays due to wet weather and delays in obtaining some of the materials..
We have seen a massive increase in the cost of steel since the original quote for the project was obtained.
To try and keep the construction costs within the original amount quoted, members have demolished the old building and removed all the material off site.
The frame of the main part of the new building is now installed and we are hopeful of construction being completed and electrical fitout completed in the next 4-6 weeks at which time members will commence fitout of bay dividers, seating, eyebrow baffles, firing line markings and timer connections to the targets.
UNFORTUNATELY, THESE DELAYS HAVE RESULTED IN THE CANCELLATION OF THE SCHEDULED FEBRUARY, 2022 OPEN EVENT BUT ALLOWS MEMBERS MORE TIME TO COMPLETE THE FITOUT PROPERLY WITHOUT RUSHING AND TAKING SHORT CUTS.
We have also been repairing termite damage in the Club house with the Office area all repaired and repainted the damaged timber in the wall across the front of the kitchen area replaced and the wall re-sheeted and painted.
Two other walls that have sustained significant damage have been treated and will be repaired in due course but should not be near as time consuming as that already repaired.
Hopefully, we will be able to get back to regular shooting once the building work on Ranges one and two are completed.
On behalf of the Committee, I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2022 with no disruption due to COVID.
